夏の風物詩、砂浜での「スイカ割り」は、日本固有のものですか？外国でも見かけるものですか？

「スイカ割り」が夏の風物詩と言われるのは日本固有の風習でしょうが、目隠しして歩かせて目標物を棒切れで叩くのを競うという遊びは誰でも考えつくような至極単純なものであり、自然発生的にどこかの国で生まれても不思議はないように思います。 

個人的にはこれまで４カ国ほどで「スイカ割り」を試しましたがどこでも大好評でした。もしかしたら私が教えた「スイカ割り」がしっかり定着しているところがあるかもしれません。
