Episode #004: Less Doing Recap
Kimi has just returned from the Less Doing Live event in New York. She’s back to share what she learned and a few of her experiences with all of us.
Shout Outs - Ryan Ozawa, Hugh Yonamine
Healthy Jetsetting Recap...
Buffer Day: Kimi is thankful she took off an extra day because she’s overwhelmed by what she needs to do to adjust and decompress from everything she took in over the weekend.
Reflection: Kimi used her time on the plane to go through her notes and organized them into an Evernote file. She has questions she wants to research and products she wants to get. She also has new life hacks to put into place and share in future episodes.
Snacks: Kimi needs to pack more healthy snacks rather than hoping to find them.
Healthy Food at Home: Kimi didn’t stock her house prior to leaving.
Noise Canceling Earphones: Lots of unhappy babies on the plane!
Crystallized Ginger: Helps soothe motion sickness
Grounding: Ben Greenfield talked about it as a hack during a presentation.
Kimi lost her iPhone 6Plus at JFK when she arrived. She got a replacement at an AT&T store and retrieved her phone from the Lost and Found on her way back. Being in an unknown city without GPS or a search engine forced her to interact and experience the city.
Synchronicity: Certain themes seem to be present and repeat themselves in different forms. Synchronicity is the universe’s way of telling you that you are on an inspired path.
Less Doing Event...
Freeing Up Mental Space and Energy: The common theme for all of the speakers. We can never focus on everything we want to focus on if we focus on everything at once.
Acceptance of the Present Moment: The present moment is the only place where we experience happiness. Anything that you can do to bring yourself back to the present moment is really valuable. Let go to the resistance because it frees the mind to find a solution.
Vulnerability: We resist being vulnerable, yet that is the deepest way that we connect with others. (Brené Brown) It is human nature to not be perfect, so it makes you comfortable with others around you show their vulnerability.
Seeing Your Own Value: We attract into our life what we feel we deserve. A lot of times the blocks that we have are caused because we do not feel that we are deserving. If you don’t value yourself, then the rest of the world won’t value you.
Dr. Mark Atkinson, Medical Director of Bulletproof, is a Mind Body Medicine physician. He talked about eating as well as being in the present moment.
Joe Polish and Dean Jackson of the I Love Marketing podcast spoke about marketing with a deeper message about value and authenticity.
Ben Greenfield of The Ben Greenfield Fitness Podcast gave a great talk in his socks.
Jordan Harbinger of the Art of Charm talked about relationships and being authentic in your relationships.
Philip McKernan presented about asking questions and looking for the blocks in your existence that are holding you back. Busy people are often running from something that is in themselves.
What void are you filling? It is important to have a plan before you implement any of these tools or strategies so that you know what you will do with the time you have found.
Outsourcing Workshop: Calvin App will be released in June to make scheduling easier.
