Coastal Ultra is a 71km ultramarathon set in the Catlins, at the bottom of the South Island. It is a point to point race, where participants run from the beautiful Waipati Beach, home to the Cathedral Caves, through 99% private land, and finishing at Curio Bay. It's a big day out.

This podcast begins with my pre-race thoughts as I drove from the Whistling Frog (our accomodation) to Curio Bay, and is followed by some pre-race chats with other runners. I managed a short bonus recording about 1/3 through the race, capturing my initial impressions, before the race got really tough!

Fast forward one week, and I am joined first by Dan McPherson, from Christchurch, and Helene Baronn, from Wanaka, to chat about their race experiences, passion for adventure, and to dig deep into what it is that makes these epic adventures so precious.
