To build trust with a "D," DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO. They prioritize what needs to be done. Unfortunately, this can lead to a lack of flexibility and can cost them relationships. They tend to be loud, be driven, and extremely focused. But do not perceive them as bad team players.
Value to the team:
They are DIRECT, so give it to them straight. Give them a challenge, put them in charge, and provide them with a clear desired outcome. They like risks, are open to trying new things and will explore new horizons. They know how to take "no" for an answer and will persist through.
Under stress, a Dominant may:
Be loud, animated, and very passionate, and the reason is that they have a clock in their head and hold themselves to a very high standard to accomplishing a task measured b time and delivering above and beyond what is expected.
They will confidently try and convince people they are right because they may not want to admit failure and want to win at any cost. They have a hard time delegating because they think they can do it better. But delegating helps to balance people and task-oriented responsibilities. If they trust you and their team, they will protect their team with everything. They do not like routine and love new challenges. If you want their respect, make sure they know the rules and be very straightforward. They have great aspirations, and if you help them get where they need to go, they will bring you the world.
