Who is Seth Berkley

Dr. Seth Berkley joined the GAVI Alliance as its CEO in August 2011. The GAVI Alliance is a public-private partnership whose mission is to save children’s lives and protect public health by increasing access to immunization in developing countries.

Since its launch in 2000, GAVI has prevented more than five million future deaths and helped protect millions of children with new and underused vaccines. Dr. Seth Berkley is a medical epidemiologist by training. He is also a global advocate for the power of vaccines, and the founder and former CEO of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.
