Episode 1: Announcing The Phlex Swim Podcast
As the Phlex Swim Podcast kicks off, we wanted to take the chance to start by introducing ourelves to you. Have you come here from [our YouTube channel](www.youtube.com/c/phlexswim/), or are you an interested swimmer scouring the podcasting world for four guys with wildly differing perspectives on the sport and activity of swimming. Regardless, you've come to the right place.
Meet the team
*Ryan Rosenbaum
*: With the earliest start to swimming, Ryan swam from the age of four, growing up at the famous international swimming hall of fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Working his way through the ranks, he reached Olympic Trial levels of competition in the Distance and Open Water disciplines before joining the rest of the Phlex guys swimming collegiately at the University of Florida. Now, besides his role as founder and Chief Marketing Officer for Phlex, he spends his time competing in US Master swimming and triathlons.
*Luke Torres
*: With one of the more unique perspectives, Luke was raised in Brazil training with a large local club team. At the age of 14 he moved to South Florida where he trained in what was then considered a non-traditional, low volume/high intensity program under the legendary coaching of Michael Lohberg. He learned from Olympians like Dara Torres who he got to train with everyday and eventually came to the University of Florida to swim with the rest of the guys. His specialties were sprinting with a focus on butterfly and breaststroke, but now he has shifted his focus towards endurance sports like Triathlon and Running. Luke is the Chief Executive Officer for Phlex.
*Marcin Cieslak
*: The most accomplished swimmer in Phlex, Marcin hails from Poland where he grew up as a natural swimmer. Once he reached the level of World Junior Championships, he was heavily recruited to swim in the United States and chose to come to the University of Florida. It was here where he won multiple NCAA Championships including individual wins in the 100 Butterfly and 200 Individual Medley. During Marcins time competing at an elite level he attended World Championships and the London Olympics. He nand fellow Polish swimming legend Pawel now coach workshops for Polish youth with their company 5STYL. He handles the creative, app, and design side of Phlex as Chief Design Officer.
*Harrison Gibson
*: Harrison possesses the most successful coaching pedigree around. Both parents being coaches, Harrison was bound to be a swimmer as he moved around the country from various famous swimming cities. After spending time in Phoenix, Indianapolis, Charlotte and Fort Lauderdale, Harrison went to the University of Florida swimming breaststroke at a high level. Once he retired from competing, he too became a coach, taking his overwhelming knowledge learned from his parents and applying it to his group and formation of the company. Harrison is the Chief Operating Officer for Phlex handling development, production, manufacturing and engineering of Phlex products.
Together, the four hosts and founders of the Phlex brand founded the startup with a goal of bringing innovative technology to the sport of swimming. As we near the launch of our first product, [the EDGE](www.phlexswim.com), we wanted to use the Podcast to connect with swimming fans around the world by sharing our perspective on popular topics, questions asked to us, and general things happenign in our lives.
