We finally have swimming back!
Since Marcin Cieślak, founder and Chief Product Officer at Phlex, signed with the Cali Condors ISL team, we now have an inside scoop on all things ISL. Marcin arrived in Hungary where the ISL bubble will be taking place over the next month and we have so many questions.
Today, we put the swimming competition aside and talk about what the bubble is like. Hotel situations, training schedules, COVID plans and much more.

Olympic gold medalist, world champion and current world record holder (4x200 freestyle relay) Ricky Berens in his Texas home for a quick interview. In it we discuss his come up in the sport of swimming, the recruiting process, what it was like representing Texas and the US National team, and then later the infamous suit ripping in the 2009 World Championships.
We sat down with Head Coach of the LSU collegiate team, Dave Geyer, to discuss how to flip a collegiate culture, creating a winning atmosphere, and he drops some knowledge on the "Bringing the sauce" attitude they have at LSU practices.

One of the things that stands out about Maxime Rooney immediately is the fact that he is so in tune with his mental health. He isn't afraid to admit when he is run down, not feeling great, or racking his brain around an issue. This shines through immediately when talking to him. Rather than talking about how many reps in the weight room or his race strategy, he talks about what he was thinking, feeling, and how it lines up with how the moment went down.
Maxime is a native to Northern California having grown up swimming for the Pleasanton Seahawks. He qualified for the US National team and broke a World Junior record in the 200 freestyle at the 2015 U.S. National Championships. From there, Maxime has gone through various international competitions and has settled into life swimming collegiately at the University of Florida. He speaks towards his athletic accomplishments, what he aspires to do, and some of the things he has learned from the mental side of the sport most recently.
While we all know the name Caeleb Dressel for his extraordinary feats of going sub 40 in the 100 yd freestyle and 17.63 in the 50 yd freestyle, we often overlook the people who are such staples in the process of crowning a national and world champion.
Coach Steve Jungbluth is the Associate Head Coach of the University of Florida Men's swim team where, in our books, he is responible for shifting a culture. You see, UF has always been known as a middle to long distance swimming school raising countless Olympians in those disciplines such as Ryan Lochte, Elizabeth Beisel and Conor Dwyer. But that 'Distance school' mantle is no longer.
We are thrilled to have Coach Jungbluth on the pod to talk shifting a culture, coaching Caeleb Dressel, how recruiting is constantly changing, and what his thoughts are on the current collegiate recruiting environment.
There's a new player in the game. FINA has long been the governing body controlling swimming, but has not done enough for professional swimmers.
In comes the International Swimming League, a upcoming professional league for swimming with BIG plans. With this weeks news of FINA stepping down from their threats towards athletes, we decided to ask the most important questions.
Is swimming the next big professional sport?
