Episode #1 The Bright Black

Listen Later

Hello and welcome to episode #1 of Liner Notes. Thank you all for pressing that play button, I'm sure you won't regret it. If you haven't listened to the introductory episode then I would recommend you pause this and go back and listen to that, it's less than five minutes long and will hopefully provide a bit of context about what the show is and what you can expect in the future.
My guests on this episode are The Bright Black, a Manchester based four piece indie soul band. They have released two singles this year, Midnight and Two, Two One, with a third due very soon. They are also, at time of recording, due to hit the road on their very own UK headline tour playing to fans that have paid specifically to see them, which as you'll hear in the conversation, they are very grateful for indeed. Having done their time in the trenches, playing gigs in obscure locations to obscure people, they are now being recognised as serious contenders, after playing support slots for house hold names such as The Fratellis and Razorlight. I think it's clear from the conversation that they have a genuine love of making music and I think whenever you talk to a person or people with a passion about something, then you can't help but be drawn into it. I hope you enjoy the chat as much as I did, thank you to the guys for taking the time to get involved. Make sure to check out the Bright Black here:
