Here's the 100th installment of the Dreams of Consciousness podcast, featuring an interview with Paul Ryan of Origin.

Origin is near and dear to this writer's heart - with their self-titled debut, they were part of a wave of bands who helped re-establish death metal's dominance, but their staccato style and cosmic themes established them as a band that was not content to simply rehash the past.

I spoke to Origin's founder Paul Ryan about the band's history, the development of their style, and the upcoming vinyl reissues of the first four Origin albums. We also spent a good deal of time talking about the writing and development of Antithesis - an album I've long praised as the best death metal album of the last ten (or so) years.
