Knowing God as Father means that we come from God. We are His children, and not just from our earthly parents. Consider for a moment, what it might mean to reject God as Father.  

Does this make us more free? Do we gain anything by announcing our independence?

​No, we are free only when there is someone who loves and whose love is strong. We are not free when we close off from love. Love grounds us. Love gives us what we need to grow. God’s love has given us the world. His provision makes life possible.
