This time on Royally Screwed, we’re talking about the Easter Rising, one of the key events in the lead up to Ireland's independence from the United Kingdom. Specifically, we're following the lives of Patrick Pearse and James Connolly, two of the leaders of the Rising. These two men represented different hopes for a free Ireland. Pearse: a man fueled by the revival of Irish culture. Connolly: a socialist with hopes to free the impoverished Irish from British capitalism.
