This week on Royally Screwed, we’re talking about the Shinsengumi, a samurai protection force for the shoguns in the final years of Shogunate Japan. Specifically, we'll be looking at the leadership of three men: Serizawa Kamo, Kondo Isami, and Hijikata Toshizo. Though the group only existed for six years, we'll learn all about how these three men rose to the occasion during a time in which their very existence was being threatened to be made obsolete.
