In this episode, we look at the darkside of gratitude. While regular practice of genuine gratitude is one of the best attributes to attain as a human being, there's a usage of it that can keep a person stuck, complacent and unhappy. This episode explores the use of gratitude that invalidates feelings and keeps a person trapped in a comfort zone of familiar misery, one where they ignore a source of misery and gaslight themselves into things being just fine. We provide some examples of negative gratitude, how to overcome it, and explain how it's ok to be grateful while still striving for something even better.
