Gretchen Evans is a retired Command Sergeant Major. She was in the military for 27 years. She was involved in an explosion while leading her team into enemy territory. After sustained a brain injury as well as loss of hearing, effectively ending her military career. Since that time, she has been busy inspiring others. She formed Team UNBROKEN. It is a group of veterans and civilians who have experienced life-altering injuries, illness, or traumas that take part in adventure races worldwide. She is also the recipient of the Pat Tillman Award for Service. Gretchen is also the author of the book, “Leading From The Front”; A board member for America’s VetDogs, as well as an ambassador for No Barriers and the Wounded Warrior Project.
