In today’s episode of Psych Talk I interview Taylor Odom, RCSWI about being a young professional in the mental health field. Taylor provides tips and insights on how to achieve a work-life balance, particularly after the transition from graduate school to the professional field. We discuss how to engage in self-care or take a break when we constantly feel the need to be productive or perform, through specific actions and by re-defining what productivity means to us. Additionally, Taylor discusses how to set boundaries with yourself as a means to maintain a work-life balance, adjust our expectations to be more realistic, and ensure we are taking care of ourselves in a world that constantly tells us we have to achieve and be productive.
