Imagine watching your life happen before your eyes as if you were watching yourself in a movie. That is exactly how our amazing guest Wadzani Garwe felt after she received a her life changing diagnosis that came without any counselling or care just a 'we cannot insure you because you are HIV Positive'. On first chat with Wadzanai who is now a HIV activist aside from being an economist with the United Nations, you would not tell the kind of trauma she has been through. Her bubbly nature and evidence of living out loud hit you face first. But on deeper conversation, Wadzanai opened up about how she received this deadly diagnosis back at a time when HIV & Aids was newly discovered and Africa had no antiretrovirals. Her then boyfriend who was with her on receiving the news was very great about it - or so she thought. We had the opportunity to stream this conversation with Wadzanai as she took us through the journey of how a traumatic diagnosis can find one opting to stay in the wrong relationship in an attempt to run away from reality. She shares her experiences during what began as a trauma bond relationship, how she almost lost her life and how she finally accepted her reality and she began to live a full healthy life. Wadzanai is truly a miracle of God and we thank her for sharing her story. If you have a story that you want to share:
