This week we revisit Irish Olympian Kerry O’Flaherty who featured on an earlier episode #34 if you want to check it out, this is an amazing podcast especially for those who are managing an injury at the minute.
Last September Kerry broke her 5th metatarsal during a key race in Spain, she was in top form, with her sights set on the road to Tokyo. That’s the kind of devastation that would send most of us down the rabbit hole of despair, obviously disappointed to have lost months of hard work like a true athlete she directed her focus on strengthening her mind body back into condition and at the age of 39 she is coming into the form of her life.
In this episode Kerry touches on the difficulty that women athletes face during their menstrual cycle, the impact it has on their training and more importantly their race condition, I’ve seen other athletes such Eilish McColgan talking this subject which I think is important for our up and coming young female athletes.
