Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Genesis 17:5
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.”

DEVOTION
Based on Genesis 17
God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, marking a new identity and a fulfilled promise. This transformation was more than symbolic—it reflected God’s covenant and the purpose He had for Abraham’s life. Though Abraham had no children at the time, God spoke His promise as already fulfilled, reminding us that His plans are certain even when we can’t see them yet.
Like Abraham, we are called to trust in God’s promises, even when circumstances seem impossible. He not only gives us a new identity in Him but also equips us to walk in the purpose He has for us.
Take a moment tonight to reflect on the identity God has given you. Breathe out doubt, and breathe in faith. Trust that He is shaping you for His promises, even if you don’t yet see the results.

ADORATION: Praise God for His sovereignty and faithfulness. Worship Him as the One who calls, renames, and fulfills His promises.
CONFESSION: Reflect on moments when doubt has made it hard to trust God’s plan. Confess any fears that have kept you from embracing His purpose for your life.
THANKSGIVING: Thank God for the new identity He has given you in Christ. Express gratitude for His promises, even those that are still unfolding in your life.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me trust in Your promises, even when I can’t yet see them. Strengthen my faith to walk in the purpose You’ve set before me. Give me confidence in the identity You’ve given me, and remind me that Your plans for my life will come to pass.

We praise You for Your promise and for Your faithfulness to our forefathers. We thank You for the generations before us who trusted You and followed You. We thank You for the gift of life, and Your loving kindness that sustains us each day. We ask that You would help us to honor our covenant with You so that Your word may be fulfilled. Show us the way to live according to Your will and give us strength when we stumble. May we live lives of righteousness and may our descendants honor You with their lives. We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾
