This week, Iāve had apple pie almost every day.
And the wild part?
I didnāt feel guilty.I didnāt overcompensate with extra cardio.I didnāt āstart overā the next day.I didnāt spiral into thinking I ruined my goals.
But that wasnāt always the case.
For years, I restricted foods like this. And when I finally allowed myself to have them, Iād usually overindulge, feel guilty, and then try to make up for it with more exercise or more restriction.
That cycle is exhausting.
In this episode, Iām talking about what actually helped me build food freedom and it probably isnāt what most people think.
I break down:
* Why restriction made my relationship with food worse
* How tracking helped me understand food instead of fear it
* Why food freedom doesnāt mean eating whatever you want with zero awareness
* How to fit fun foods into your life without guilt
* Why context matters when it comes to your goals, hunger, training, and lifestyle
* How I decide when something is actually āworth itā
Food is fuel, but itās also more than fuel.
Itās experiences.Itās memories.Itās apple pie with family.Itās pizza after an 8-mile hike.Itās learning how to enjoy your life without feeling like youāre wrecking your progress.
Food freedom isnāt having no structure.
Itās having enough awareness, trust, and flexibility to make choices without guilt, shame, or all-or-nothing thinking.
