I'm listening to the beginning part of Drake's new record Iceman while I write the blurb for this episode and Lord it must be hard being Drake, he still seems shook in the wake of being cooked by Kendrick Lamar. The sounds are all right but the lyrics, oy. And that cover image has to be a Michael Jackson reference which I don't get at all. I wholeheartedly recommend the first three records featured at the front of this episode and the rest of the tracks are no slouch either. Once again showing that the real action in music is below the superstar level where the narcissistic douchebags primp and preen while real musicians make music. All three of these hip hop records have a lot of soul, Drake I'm not really sure.
If you can handle Archspire's extreme tempo and aggressiveness they deliver the goods, I think what they do is very unique and super beautiful in its way.
So there ya go, the Magic Organ is always multi-genre and banging, if you feel like getting in touch go for it, I'm super friendly.
Excerpts from this episode:
By Storm & Injury Reserve: Can I Have You For Myself?
Stik Figa: No Secrets
Isaiah Rashad: The New Sublime
Octo Octa: Just Listen
Archspire: Carrion Ladder
Canes Of Karabakh: Sevan The Wild Cane
Feel free, (it's free!) to follow me on the on the toilet called Instagram where I conversate and show my love for music as themagic_organ. I got it friggin' goin' on over there, commenting on culture, denouncing spectacle based American culture and serving up fresh bangers as I unearth them. Or brandish upon me 5 shits on the itunes if you want to help out, 5 starry shits on the itunes I dare not dream!!! Cough it up people. Or you can email me to say how I changed your life with all this great music. Music can be social, you can have opinions, the roar of the masses are not just farts as the Minutemen used to say.
I'm always open to listener suggested playlists if you feel you can hang with the host. I'll even co host the show with you and I will be super nice. I might even serve biscuits. C'mon take the bait! LFG.
You can find these artists on bandcamp and streaming outlets. You can support them by listening and telling your friends. You can tell other people about this concentrated blast of new music goodness, bursting with farm fresh flavor. You can celebrate what I do and what musicians do! Let this shitass 13 minute podcast be your guiding light. God forbid.
