Underneath the shiny, suffocating blanket of pop music/mainstream culture all manner of shit is going on, that's the flavor of this episode. Only a long time from now people will have some idea of what is happening, but from where this ghetto music philosopher sits we are witnessing the blenderization of all genres -- chunks of this go with this, why? Because someone put them together to create an effect; whether that's to create an over the top spectacle or to break something pretty into tiny digital pieces. All this with many many grooves coming from all over, I enjoy the variety and appreciate all the different ways music manifests. It's hard to get folks to open their minds but we keep trying. As the title of the Horse Lords excerpt is titled: Playing and Reality.
Excerpts from this episode:
Brutalismus 3000: No Friends in the Company
Tran Uy Duc: Deserver
Ibrahim Alfa Jnr: Marine
MPTL Microplastics: Plastic Princess
K Wata: Radio Embrace
Horse Lords: Playing and Reality
Death Kneel: Call Back
Feel free, (it's free!) to follow me on the on the social toilet called Instagram where I conversate and show my love for music as themagic_organ. I got it friggin' goin' on over there, the very definition of epic, denouncing spectacle based American culture and serving up fresh bangers as I unearth them. Exciting doesn't even begin to cover it. If you would like to help the magic organ lay at my feet 5 shits on the itunes, 5 starry shits on the itunes I dare not dream!!! Cough it up people. Or you can email me to say how I changed your life with all this great music. Music can be social, you can have opinions, the roar of the masses are not just farts as the Minutemen used to say.
I'm always open to listener suggested playlists if you feel you can hang with the host. I'll even co host the show with you and I will be super nice. I might even serve biscuits. C'mon take the bait! LFG.
You can find these artists on bandcamp and streaming outlets. You can support them by listening and telling your friends. You can tell other people about this concentrated blast of new music goodness, bursting with farm fresh flavor. You can celebrate what I do and what musicians do! Let this shitass 13 minute podcast be your guiding light. God forbid.
