Episode 133 – The Grand AX Return! (Part 1)
NOTE: This show was recorded before news of the passings of Kazuki Takahashi and Shinzo Abe.
After three years since its last in-person event, Anime Expo had its grand return on the big stage, and to the surprise of few it's still as imperfect as ever with how the event is actually run and managed. Especially since it's in Los Angeles in JULY. Nevertheless, this means another extended deep dive at the happenings, goings-on, and announcements from AX 2022, of which there were quite a few that were, to sum up, BIG. In the first half of this two-part episode, we have some pre-and-post AX events to talk about, including some big continuing returns, an update for future Jump+ titles, Netflix doing more Netflix things, and the events of the first day of the 2022 Anime Expo - with plenty of Macross to go around.
