Welcome to Daily Growth Point, I’m Pastor John Bingham.
At the moment of salvation, God gives each new believer the gift of His Spirit to dwell in us and help us to have victory over temptation.
1 John 2 tells us that there are three areas of temptation that we must constantly be on guard against. They are:
The lust of the flesh
The lust of the eyes
The pride of life
Consider this, we can be tempted by our own lusts (James 1:13–15) or tempted by the love of money (1 Tim. 6:9). Yet, we can also get into trouble if we cease to examine our own heart for a spirit of pride that silently rears its head against the Lord.
So what do we do? First, be reminded that Christ is the victor of sin and death, an through Him we are already victorious. When temptation comes, pray to be delivered.
Secondly, Seek the help of godly individuals to help you shoulder this burden.
Remember, we have a real enemy, so we must remain vigilant and continue devotedly to Christ.
