In this episode of the Secret MENS Business podcast we speak to Greg Riley about how masculinity is now being addressed in 2021, how old tribal hierarchy can help change the way men behave, and the role of parents in teaching their sons to live their lives.
A man’s primary role is to provide for, protect, and be in relationship with his family. That role requires a man to develop character. But you may have been involved with men who did not live up to their primary roles, and consequently your son may not have had an ideal role model. So here’s my list (compiled with help from single moms) detailing many of the qualities that make a good man. In still these qualities in your boy to help him become a good man.
Instead of scolding our sons about “toxic masculinity,” let’s invite them to try this little thought experiment: Ask yourself, “What does it mean to be a good man?” Imagine waking up in the morning and looking in the mirror and saying to yourself, “You are a good man.” Imagine your funeral. You’ll want it said of you, “He was a good man.”
