Typhoid Mary was an Irish-born American cook believed to have been an asymptomatic carrier of the bacteria that caused Typhoid fever. Defiant of public health orders, she persisted in working as a cook and thereby exposed others to the fever. As a result, she was condemned to forced quarantine for nearly three decades of her life. #WikiSleep #Sleep #TyphoidMary
