Welcome to Daily Growth Point, I’m Pastor John Bingham.
Do you remember Nancy Reagan’s campaign to fight the drug problem in the 1980’s? Her slogan became, “Just say NO!”
In Matthew 4, the Bible records the days of fasting and temptation for Christ. Three times the devil tried to tempt Christ to sin, but each time He not only said, “NO!” But He also rebuked the temptation with the power of Scripture!
The Psalmist said, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.”
When you experience a time of temptation to sin, look in the Bible to find verses that deal with that sin so that you are armed and ready for the next time you are tempted.
Remember, you don’t have to sin. Through the power of God’s Spirit, and the Word of God, He offers you the grace to say “no” to sin and to be victorious!
