Have no fear The Boyz are back with a new episode of the Grind theory podcast and are back to having guests. Today we have a very special and unique guest merlin Uwalaka she is an extremely intelligent and gifted creative in the Edmonton scene she is the creator and one of the founding members of the Arodanjournal, she also embeds her unique swag that into making her own clothing as a talented seamstress. And is the creator and host of the merlin musings podcast. Today as merlin joins the show we dive into numerous topics such as her early days growing up, and the difference between home and Canada, the art of healing ,her university experiences, the importance of setting boundaries and knowing your worth, the 3 biggest lessons she has learned in her life, how they have impacted her. As well as the biggest obstacle she has faced and how she has overcome it and what she has learned from it. 

• Merlin talks about her early days back in Nigeria and what it was like coming to Canada and the differences between home and Canada. She talks about how she stays  consistent and actually being a unique and new perspective to consistency. She claims that you have to answer the question, what does consistency mean to you ? Also the unique perspective on the importance of being inconsistent.

• She dives into her days in university and the experiences and lessons she learned. Working as  leader in the Nigerian student association making some fire jollof lol. She also goes into what led her into fashion and designing her own clothing. 

• She talks about an unfortunate experience that she had when running her business and how it taught her the importance of setting boundaries, knowing your value and NOT playing small, especially when it comes to your talents and business.

• She speaks on the importance of having authentic collaborations and really understanding what that means. She talks about the creative scene of Edmonton and the talent and potential that is here. As well as the one downfall the scene suffers at times as well as the difference between the scene back home as opposed to in Canada.

• Merlin shares All the projects she is working on now with the podcast, her writing, starting a journal for other writers as well as her clothing. She also goes on to share the 3 biggest lessons that she has learned in her life so far from her experiences and how they have impacted her life. As well as the biggest struggle that she has faced in her life, how she overcame it and what it has taught her.
