Today we interview Canadian College hoop legend Kenny Johnson, coming out of North Philly he is a 3x all Conference, all Canadian, Canadian player of the year, 3rd all time in the ACAC in points. In his final season of college he averaged 32 ppg which was in any college divison in the world that year. He is the all time leading scorer in (GPRC) Grande Prairie Regional College history in the short span of 3 years. He is also the head trainer for Good Hoops, as well as the head NBA trainer/scout for the Deion Adams NBA agency, head assistant coach Western Canada Prep and owner of One Possession basketball gym and program. In part 1 of this episode Kenny takes us into his story and journey from high school phenom to pro to the NBA workforce it wasn't easy. we dive into topics such as his early upbringing, moving to a whole country, going from center to PG, battling through multiple injuries, the importance of being you, balancing work and play, overcoming setbacks and much more. This episode is filled with tons of laughs and lessons ,Kenny's got some crazy untold stories and you know there are always gems. From the these small humble beginnings he has go on to be the owner and founder of Textology, GPM Marketing, Legacy Rentals Inc., and Blue Sky Business Development. Along his journey he has lived the full spectrum of what it means to be an entrepreneur, as we sit down in the interview we dive into a number of topics such as Jesse’s early childhood and his struggles with school, the Importance of taking a risk and being uncomfortable, The importance of failing fast, Being a Leader vs a Boss, Starting his own business, experiencing multiple failures and bouncing back, Clearing OVER 2 Million in sales with his business and so much more. So the Boyz are back with a new episode for your head-top today, this is actually the first episode of the year and from our rebrand. Today we dive into the world of boxing. We got the opportunity to sit with 2 legends 1 in the making and one that has already established a legacy for himself in the sport. We sit down with the #1 boxing prospect at the super flyweight division in Canada Paige Suchit a.k.a Hollywood, Paige is a Canadian born boxer with a mix of Caribbean spice in him with his parents being from Trinidad and Barbados. Paige's list of accolades is a long one being a 4 time provincial champion, a winter olympic gold medalist and the 3 time boxing champ of Barbados in his weight class and many more accomplishments on his journey of aspiring to being a world champion. Our second guest is a living legend, a man known by the alias ACTION and definitely lived up to the name in his time in the ring. John David (ACTION) Jackson is the former 2 time boxing world champion fighting in 2 different weight classes and claiming the belt in both junior middleweight and middleweight from the years of 1988 - 1993. After his boxing career he went on to become a boxing Coach/Trainer and he excelled becoming a trainer of champions having trained over 13 world champions and on the way to added Paige to that list as well. In this episode we dive into both mens upbringing and how their careers started, as well as the ins and outs of boxing and the common struggles and obstacles faced, they deal and dealt with it as well as what they have learned along the way. We also get to hear some hilarious stories from both men about the boxing adventures.
