Alex Parra is not a one-time but a TWO-time cancer survivor. Alex was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, also known as bone cancer, at the age of 15, resulting in the loss of his leg (which he chose to do by flipping a coin)! After learning how to walk again and beating cancer, Alex continued to get scanned routinely. In 2018, Alex was re-diagnosed with Lung Cancer with a 10% chance of survival.
Against all odds, Alex ended up being in that 10% which can be connected to his grounded and positive mindset.
In this episode, Alex provides great wisdom about focusing on what you can control, being your own biggest fan, and mindfulness. Alex also discusses how he is currently training as a Paraswimmer for the 2024 Paralympics.
You’ll leave this episode with a sense of motivation and gratitude! Make sure to check Alex out and follow along his journey on Instagram @Alex1leg
