Episode 14 - Choas Bolt v. Twin Spell, Using Meta Knowledge, Contested Dice Rolls, and Railroading

Listen Later

Today, Justices Joe and Ana are joined by the truly lovely Justice Hunter for some deep dives into topics about how DMs interact with their players. First, the Court addresses the case of Choas Bolt v. Twin Spell, where they are presented with the question of whether the popular metamagic feature "Twin Spell" applies to the spell Chaos Bolt. We then chillax and relax behind the bench and dive into a discussion about the appropriate level of meta knowledge DMs should consider when building encounters. Next, the Court chews on the issue of contested dice rolls--who wins, and what does a "win" look like? And finally, we put on our conductor hats to talk about the ever controversial topic of railroading! Choo Choo! All Aboard!
