In episode 14, MTT Coach Gareth James and Mental Game Trainer Dr. Tricia Cardner discuss two listener questions that both came into our respective Facebook groups this week. The first question tackled has to do with setting poker goals when you have limited time available and lots of potential study material. It is important to gain clarity about what it is you exactly want and then you want to break your goals into specific small but focused daily tasks.

This episode also features Gareth answering a query about how to play a 15-25bb stack. This is a situation that comes up all the time in MTTs. Gareth outlines a series of questions to ask about our opponent’s tendencies that can help us determine our proper play. He also provides instructions for using Holdem Resources calculator to examine various plays. Doing this work in advance is critical to being able to play well in the moment.
