In his musical guise as The Oracle, Patrick Murphy has been creating experimental music that traverses the worlds of noise, dark ambient, and drone. With the impending full-length album Hypogeum, the project has taken a leap forward in terms of songwriting and production.

I spoke with Patrick about The Oracle's history, as well as the writing and recording of Hypogeum. We also discussed the intent and creation behind the videos that were created for the album.
