This episode of the Fearless Mindset Podcast is the last part of our conversation with Heidi Chance, a retired Phoenix Police Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Detective and Presenter on child sex trafficking and exploitation at the National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC). 

Today, Heidi brings to light the realities behind grooming, online sex trafficking, and how money is the motivation behind this exploitation. She gives her expert insight on going to court and shares how their police unit was featured on Frontline PBS, which spanned 3 years as it followed a case. Heidi also gives tips to law enforcement on staying safe online and how to combat trafficking.

Traffickers exploit the system to manipulate others - Heidi: " I've had a trafficker call the Department of Child Safety on their victim that they're exploiting, got the baby taken away, and then told them, if you make me this certain amount of money, I'll help you get the baby back. And it's their own kid."

Women in law enforcement should use their intuition - Heidi: "I think their communication and their ability to think on their feet as far as reading people and seeing what's about to happen, seeing through lies. I mean, women have that intuition, that mother's intuition or whatever you want to call it, so use it."
