In the Summer of 1980, 11-year-old David Glatzel became possessed by a demon after suffering terrifying nightmares and visions of a horrific horned beast, who took a liking to an old rocking chair in the Glatzel home. He and his family would face months of life-altering torment at the hands of the demon, eventually receiving help from paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren. The family would find some relief from the torture, but only after a tragic event that ended in murder when the demon released David and moved into the body of his sister’s fiancé, Arne Johnson.

Our story this week focuses on a world-renown haunted object that spent a significant amount of time in the Warrens Occult Museum before coming into the possession of famous paranormal investigator Zac Bagans. The origin of the chair and its true age and backstory is unknown; what we do know is that the Glatzel family obtained it sometime in the 1950s. It remained an ordinary piece of furniture in the Glatzel home until a demonic creature claimed it for his own. Many believe it was cursed by the devil himself.
