Today we chat about Alibaba’s Single’ Day, which took in $38 billion dollars. Yes, in ONE DAY. It definitely takes out both Black Friday and Cyber Monday and Jarahad tells us why the Chinese market is so hard to crack, for brands outside of it.
It has been reported that Instagram has been paying content creators’ production costs, but ONLY if they don’t mention politics. It’s in stark contrast to its parent company Facebook, who go to the other extreme of allowing many political things that they probably shouldn’t.
We talk about the new Johnnie Walker campaign, in the USA. From an attention/ design point of view it kicks goals, but from a marketing/advertising view, we think it misses the main point… to persuade people to buy.
