America must learn how to plan for the long term

Yousef: "If you look at China and their Belt and Road Initiative, they get on board with each other, whether it's by coercion or force or whatever it is, but they'd get on and built the road with each other, and they'll build out a plan for the next 50 years, next 60 years."

Military strength alone is not enough

Yousef: "We're spending all this money on weapon systems and that's good, we want to protect ourselves, but we don't have a 1 through 6 plan before we get to that. It's either come on board or we're going to hammer you. That's worrying sometimes."
