The overall definition of love is the pure essence of being that binds together the whole human family. Of all the attributes of God, love is undoubtedly the most beautiful. He loves for the sake of loving. Love is not concerned with what or who it loves, nor with a return of love. 
The difference between God’s love and human love is that God's love is broad and unlimited, a universal and harmonizing power. Human love is based on personality and is selfish, lawless, and fickle. 
Down deep the things of this world will never completely satisfy us because wholeness and unity with God and mankind is what we yearn for deep within us. We were created on earth in the image and likeness of God. If that is the case, then we have his nature which is love, joy, creativity, and freedom. After all, we all want to be loved and we all want to have a great experience here on earth.
