EP is about protecting and saving lives, not just shooting guns.
Dr. Michael Guirguis is a medical doctor, the Chief Medical Officer of Raven Medical Support Group, and an EP Specialist at Patriot Global for Crisis24. As a medical professional, Mike has seen how precious life is firsthand and how quickly it can get taken away.
He shares how he strives to always be in the present rather than get caught up in the pursuit of material wealth. Michael also observes how medical training is increasingly becoming a focus in EP as being able to handle injuries during emergencies is of critical importance to clients.
Tune in to hear more on advocating medical training in EP in this episode of The Fearless Mindset Podcast.
GOLDEN NUGGETS
A pivot to incorporate medical into EP
Michael: "I think everybody's starting to realize, listen, we need to do this for our clients because the reality is, in security, look, we're trying to keep a scene safe, a client safe, a principal safe, a resident safe. And the reality is we're always going to have failures. And when there's a failure, there's probably going to be an injury."
Medical training teaches first aid but also awareness of true emergencies
Michael: "I can teach anybody to do trauma because it's very limited on what you can do. But the other aspect is all the other medical non-traumatic emergencies or problems that can occur on a trip, on a jet, on a yacht somewhere, or while you're moving, where you need to kind of determine, hey, is this something that needs to go to the hospital?"
