Resilient Humans

Episode 169: The Mindset of the 2025 Blue Jays

Listen Later

It’s been over 30 years since I last really watched baseball...when Joe Carter’s home run made the entire country erupt.

But this year… something special happened.

The Toronto Blue Jays made it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series — and for a moment, it felt like Canada was united again.

No one was talking about the time change.

No one was complaining online.

Everyone was talking about baseball. About belief. About hope.

Even though the Jays lost in extra innings, they fought like hell and never gave up. And in doing so, they gave us a front-row seat to what resilience really looks like.

In this episode, I share how their journey this season is a perfect example of the mindset of a resilient human — and how losing doesn’t have to mean failing.

You’ll hear:

  • Why effort and belief matter more than outcome
  • How failure can actually strengthen your resilience
  • What it means to “lose well” — in sport, work, or life
  • And why success is less about trophies and more about who you become along the way

Because sometimes, the most defining moments don’t happen in the wins — they happen in extra innings.
