Every angler has been there; on a new body of water, or going to a new body of water and feeling a bit unsure because you've never been on it, never fished it. This applies to fun fishing, going out with the kiddos, prefishing for a tournament or actually fishing a derby. The most basic and necessary question looms - How do I figure out this body of water? It could be a stream, a river, a lake and it could be any size. How do you break it down? How do you find and catch fish on it? How do you not just lay down in the fetal position and cry the first time you launch your boat on Lake of the Woods and feel lost on it's literal million plus acres of water?

This episode may not be absolute gospel, but the info we share is what we do and it works for us. We've gotten accustomed to fishing new lakes, new pools on the river, new whatever and this is how we break them down. This is how we study and work to find fish as efficiently as possible.
