Conference Championship weekend proved to be eventful despite most people deeming it pointless! Indiana gets their first B1G championship win in more than 40 years, Georgia beat Bama in dominating fashion, Duke beat Virginia in overtime, and BYU got rocked by Texas Tech. The committee was forced to add two group of five teams into the CFP since Duke was ranked below the AAC conference champ and the Sun Belt conference champ.
This then forced the committee to make the difficult choice of leaving out Notre Dame for Miami, which I don't think they should have been the ones left out, despite their strength of schedule.
The Heisman conversation was also brought up since the ceremony is this Saturday, and the battle between Julian Sayin and Fernando Mendoza was one of the final games of the weekend for the Heisman voters to look at to determine who they would vote for. Other names that are in the conversation are Jeremiyah Love, Diego Pavia, Jeremiah Smith, and Jacob Rodriguez.
College football has been so much fun to follow this season, and now college basketball is starting to move to the in-conference portion of the schedule. Next week we are going to talk Heisman and take a deep dive into college basketball!
