Listen Later

In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul draws a direct correlation between the spiritual state of the Corinthian church and the degree of supernatural power that was flowing in the church. He confronted the reality that the Corinthians were full of dishonor toward one another as members of Christ’s body. “For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself. That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died.” (1 Corinthians 11:29-30 NLT)

While there were clearly healers and miracle workers in the Corinthian church, they were unable to heal the sick and some were even dying of illnesses that were commonly healed in evangelistic settings. Paul hands us a major key in releasing greater healing in the church. We must deal with our offenses, our unforgiveness, our judgments and our dishonor toward our brothers and sisters if we want to see the fullness of God’s healing power flow inside His church.
