We were privileged to speak with Rod Blake who began his career with Geelong in 1971, after being recruited from Inverleigh in the Geelong and District Football League.
Rod’s career at Kardinia Park stretched to 1983, reaching 176 games in the hoops; booting 113 goals along the way.
He enjoyed a stellar season in 1980 winning the Carji Greeves Medal and finishing just four votes behind eventual winner Kelvin Templeton in the Brownlow Medal.
Rod was also privileged to wear the Big V on three occasions in interstate football.
