Todays episode is a deep dive into another piece by Daniel Danger (@tinymediaempire on Instagram) from the August 26, 2033 Dave Matthews Band show in Irvine, CA. We learned a lot about the history that inspired this Danger print. Juana Maria - the Lone Woman of San Nicholas Island, was the last surviving member of the Nicolino tribe. This tribe had inhabited the island for what we believe over 10,000 years. In the late 1800s, she was found living alone on the island with her dogs in 1850. She had been left behind after missionaries came and forcibly removed the native people 20 years prior. This incredible history and story of this woman, is now front and center as a part of the DMB poster lore. Mike and Erica share their perspective on this piece- as well as the musical inspiration (very Don’t Drink the Water vibes) on this prolific piece by Daniel Danger.
