Jon Jost has been an independent filmmaker since the 1960s. He is self-taught and has directed, filmed, and edited his own work for decades. Films include Speaking Directly, Last Chants for a Slow Dance, Angel City, Slow Moves, Bell Diamond, Rembrandt Laughing, Sure Fire, All The Vermeers in New York, Frameup, The Bed You Sleep In, Swimming in Nebraska, and Coming to Terms, amongst others. At the time of this recording Jost is in India.
