In this episode we  listen to entrepreneur and ex-professional athlete Josh Gape talk about his supplement business.  We find out how Josh discovered his life and career path during a sabbatical from his City job.  We learn how his nose to tail products improve our health and quality of life. The idea for APE was developed when I was travelling with my partner Izzi in India. Both of us were unhappy in our corporate London jobs so needed to take some time out. This time away created the space we needed to realise what we actually wanted to do with our lives. I have always been heavily into sports, nutrition & health optimisation so was using the time away for personal research and reading. At the same time, Izzi and I both began to deep dive into meditation and it became part of or morning and evening routine.

This caused something to click into place for me and I began to explore the relationship between the body, mind & soul. I started to understand how a more holistic approach, taking the time to work with each of these aspects, was the most optimal way for me live my life. By gaining deeper knowledge of health, nutrition and how to leverage them, I was able to take my performance to another level and surpass limitations I had been previously experienced.

A desire to share this message acted as the catalyst for APE Nutrition and I started to think about which products could best help people on their journey to optimal health and performance. Both Izzi and I felt that there were so many ‘health’ brands selling gimmick products that weren’t genuinely healthy. We recognised that the majority of ‘health foods’ were packed with artificial sweeteners and genetically modified ingredients. With a huge number of supplements on the market being poorly sourced and therefore lacking in the beneficial compounds they’re known for.
