Episode 19 (not 18 as mentioned in the podcast) of the TTC Gone Traveling podcast reviews Round 16 of the BKT EuroCup, which featured plenty of drama involving teams fighting for the playoffs including Umana Reyer Venice and Buducnost VOLI Podgorica both grabbing massive victories. We have two unbelievably tight races for the playoffs - with one group having a five-way tie for places 3-7 while the other group has six teams still in the running for the final three spots. Oh, and Valencia Basket scored 100 points for the 10th time this season.
Sergio Llebres and David Hein look at the biggest storylines of the latest round on the Road to Greatness - or should we call it the Road to Chaos - starting with Reyer holding off Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem with a team that finally is complete. We then review Buducnost experiencing another close game and winning again after giving up a big lead to ratiopharm ulm. We also discuss in detail DJ Seeley of U-BT Cluj-Napoca; Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv’s Johnathan Motley; Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse’s Maksim Salash; and Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius’ Marek Blazevic.
To finish off the show, we look ahead to Round 17 with even more massive showdowns with playoffs implications with Bahcesehir College Istanbul hosting Ulm; Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana welcoming Valencia; Wolves playing at Dolomiti Energia Trento; Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul playing at Dreamland Gran Canaria; Joventut Badalona playing for their playoff lives at Buducnost; and then two match-ups of 9-7 teams with Turk Telekom Ankara playing Reyer and Jerusalem playing at Bourg.
