We have moved into the second third of the 2026-27 BKT EuroCup season and this is Episode 5 of the show looking at Round 5. Just like last week, three teams are still undefeated - Aris Thessaloniki, Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem and Napoli Basketball - and two clubs are still waiting for their first wins - Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana and Balkan Botevgrad.

Ivan Beas and David Hein review Turk Telekom Ankara’s big win over Skyliners Frankfurt; Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem taking down Aris Thessaloniki in the big game of unbeatens; Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana getting their first win over Baglietto Derthona Tortona; and PAOK Thessaloniki outrunning Roma Basketball. The guys also look at top individual performances by Hugo Benitez from Kids&Us Manresa, Bahcesehir College Istanbul’s Trevion Williams, Jahmi’us Ramsey of Napoli Basketball and London Lions’ Maxwell Lewis.

After three rounds of games, five teams are undefeated at 3-0 - Aris Thessaloniki, Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem, Napoli Basketball, Tofas Bursa and Bahcesehir College Istanbul; while four teams are still waiting for their first win - Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, reigning champs Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse, Bosna BH Telecom Sarajevo and Balkan Botevgrad.

Ivan Beas and David Hein look at Umana Reyer Venice defeating Turk Telekom Ankara; Riga Zelli knocking off Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, Roma Basketball beating Balkan Botevgrad; and La Laguna Tenerife rolling past Maxima Roma. And we are off - Round 1 of the 2026-27 BKT EuroCup season is complete and four clubs won their first-ever games in the competition - Riga Zelli, Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos, La Laguna Tenerife and Maxima Roma. Of the 16 games in Round 1, only three road teams grabbed victories - Dolomiti Energia Trento, Aris Thessaloniki and Buducnost VOLI Podgorica.

The 2026-27 BKT EuroCup season tips off on September 29 and that means we need to talk about the 25th campaign. David Hein is joined this season on the Gone Traveling podcast by Ivan Beas to talk about all things EuroCup.

The Adidas NextGen EuroLeague Finals have finished and FC Barcelona grabbed the much-anticipated title to end a decade-long drought since their last crown since 2016. Barcelona defeated Real Madrid in the Championship Game in front of an exciting crowd at the Telekom Center in Athens - also known as the OAKA. David Hein reviews the Finals with Rafa Hernandez of Overtime.

They discuss the exciting final game as well as look at both of the finalists Barcelona and Real. Hein and Hernandez also talk about the other teams in the Finals as well as the NextGen’s “regular season”; how the competition took steps forward this season; and what top stories you can already look forward to in 2026-27.

We have a champion! Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse have won the BKT EuroCup and will play next season in the EuroLeague after sweeping Besiktas GAIN Istanbul in the best of three finals. Adam Mokoka took home Most Valuable Player honors for two games of great performances including the championship-winning layup with 1.1 seconds left in Game 2.

Marco Munno and David Hein review Bourg’s unlikely win in Game 1 in Istanbul and then finishing off the Turkish team at home. Bourg become the third French club to win the EuroCup - the other two coming in 2021 with AS Monaco hoisting the crown and Paris Basketball knocking off Bourg in the 2024 Finals.
