Episode 20 of the TTC Gone Traveling podcast reviews Round 17 of the BKT EuroCup as three teams - Turk Telekom Ankara, Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana and Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem - booked their tickets to the playoffs. But five of the 12 post-season spots are still up for grabs, and what a finish we have in store. There is a four-team tie in Group A at 9-8 - Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul, ratiopharm ulm and Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius - and three teams are tied at 9-8 in Group B - U-BT Cluj-Napoca, Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse and Umana Reyer Venice.

Sergio Llebres and David Hein look at the biggest storylines of the latest round on the Road to Greatness - or as we coined last week the Road to Chaos. We start with Jerusalem thrashing Bourg in an unexpected dud of a highly-anticipated matchup. The Turk Telekom comeback win over Reyer was definitely worth watching. We then talk about Yogi Ferrell from Buducnost, Caleb Homesley from Dreamland Gran Canaria, Cedevita’s 18-year-old French big man Joan Beringer and Bahcesehir College Istanbul’s under-the-radar recent signing Kenan Sipahi.

To close the show, we look into the electric Round 18 bill of games, focusing on Wolves versus Buducnost, Ulm against Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv and Bourg at Valencia Basket.

Episode 19 (not 18 as mentioned in the podcast) of the TTC Gone Traveling podcast reviews Round 16 of the BKT EuroCup, which featured plenty of drama involving teams fighting for the playoffs including Umana Reyer Venice and Buducnost VOLI Podgorica both grabbing massive victories. We have two unbelievably tight races for the playoffs - with one group having a five-way tie for places 3-7 while the other group has six teams still in the running for the final three spots. Oh, and Valencia Basket scored 100 points for the 10th time this season.

Sergio Llebres and David Hein play Santa Claus and hand out presents to 10 teams in the BKT EuroCup. Sergio was responsible for the clubs in Group A and Dave had the sides in Group B.

Sergio talks about giving Trefl Sopot a center with strong rebounding and rim protection. He wants to give Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul the fortitude to use Dustin Sleva more. For Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius, he wishes the team could take their present form and go back to the start the season - after they began the campaign with four straight losses. Santa Sergio believes Buducnost VOLI Podgorica could use a pass-first point guard to help better use the weapons they have. And for the final gift, he wants Joventut Badalona to keep Sam Dekker until the end of the season.

Dave is up and for 7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys he wants a long distance threat and gifts them Zack Rollins, currently playing for Cair 2030 Skopje in North Macedonia. Santa Dave would give Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana an inside force and would like to seem them pick up Tyshaun Crawford, a 7-1/ 216cm center playing with Guangzhou in China. Dave doesn’t want to give U-BT Cluj-Napoca any new player but rather he hopes the Romanian team can have Finnish marksman Sasu Salin shoot the rest of the season like he did in game against Valencia Basket - where he made 6/11 threes. Dave went shot-blocker searching for the EuroCup cellar dwellars in blocks Umana Reyer Venice and came up with Skylar Spencer (NOT Spencer Skylar as named in the podcast), currently playing for Italian SerieA2 second division side Real Sebastiani Rieti. And last but not least, Dave wants to give Aris Midea Thessaloniki a magic potion for chemistry. The team looks entirely different with the return of Trey Woodbury and the additions of Sharife Cooper and Darral Willis, but captain Vassilis Toliopoulos should be due back soon.

It will be hard to top Round 12 of the 2024-25 BKT EuroCup season as we saw offensive records get broken, no size lead seemed safe, there were two overtime thrillers and we almost forgot to talk about the headliner between first and second placed teams in Group A.

What a Round 11 of the 2024-25 BKT EuroCup as we saw great games, big upsets and fantastic individual performances. Valencia Basket remained undefeated, Bahcesehir College Istanbul finally lost again - to a city rival - and we are close to essentially seeing teams be eliminated from playoffs contention.
