Virginia Allen is a conductor, music educator, arranger, consultant, and a true pioneer for women in music. During her 20-year career in the United States Army, Allen was the first woman to command and conduct an active duty military band integrated with both men and women, the first woman to conduct the West Point band, and the first woman to conduct the U.S. Army Field Band.
